Biking in Astoria

What’s your problem?

The New York Times is soliciting bike questions for Joshua Benson, the bicycle program coordinator for NYC’s Department of Transportation.

I already got mine in about my issues with Queensboro Bridge access. I hope he answers it!

I went in and asked a few redundant questions… including my feelings about bridge access.

If your question doesn’t get answered, let’s start a 311 call in. Once a week get as many people as you can to call 311 and ask the same question asking for the same resolution to the problem. Keep it up long enough and see what happens.

It can work w/local pols too…

Saw this as well…. I went to the DOT web site and emailed them my question – I work for a city agency but we’ve never been told about the bike parking he mentioned.

I’m going to try and find out if it’s really available to all city employees – if so, I could park there and take a quick subway ride up to midtown where I work.

He didn’t answer my question. sigh.

    Yeah… and DOT didn’t write me back….yet.

I suppose he could only answer so many… I think he kind of missed one of the most obvious threads throughout the posts though, a general underlying frustration with the state of cycling, improvements and all. I think he should have addressed that even though it wasn’t a real question.

Yeah, I couldn’t give the guy a hard time for not answering *my* question (though I did think about it). But I agree, there were general issues he could have addressed.
