Bizarro parade permit

Check out the NYPD’s parade permit, now needed to assemble groups on bikes.

Believe it or not, I still have faith that the courts will rule this in mad-crazy violation of, well, the First Amendment. I’ll be really scared when it turns out I’m wrong.

I should mention that I love Mayor Mike Bloomberg more than I like to admit in public. Really. I like Mike. I like to think that all the bad things that happen only sneak by because he’s too busy doing more important things or wagging his middle finger while shaming people into doing what we all know is right. And the congestion pricing (see picture of London’s successful system below) he’s proposed is the best idea in the world. I can’t imagine it actually happening because car-obsessed New Yorkers are fuckers. But a man can dream.
